What to Include in your Detail Box | Wedding Preparation

Capturing pretty little bridal details are one of my favorite parts of the wedding day! Details are the very first thing that I photograph on the wedding day, and I try to spend at least 30 minutes capturing them to make sure I get ALL THE PRETTY THINGS. Now I know what some of you are thinking, " I don't care if I have photographs of the invitations and jewelry", but as your photographer I do. Here's why- The invitations, jewelry, shoes, and florals help to bring all of the important details together including your shoes, rings, and much more. The invitation is a connection element that will bring all of your bridal detail images together and make them look bright and pretty!

Now that you know the "why" behind bridal shots, lets talk about the "what".

You should include the following details in your "detail box" .

- the rings (all 3 of them)

- your invitation suite

- any jewelry (earnings, bracelets, necklaces, hair pins, etc.)

- your shoes ( heels and flats if you have both)

- any heirloom pieces

- at-least 2 boutonnieres

- one corsage

- ask your florist to include some flowers & greenery for details ( just pieces)

The rest of the details should be near the box for me to quickly grab as well.

- the bride's dress

- the veil

- the bridesmaids' dresses

- the bouquets

This will make it easy and quick for me to arrive at your venue and immediately start capturing your detail shots. If they aren't in one place it's okay, but it will take time for me to gather and find all of the pieces. Putting it all together the nights before the wedding will also help you to stress less about having it with you on the wedding day because everything will be in one place and easy to grab!

XOXO,

Brittany
