I have compiled a list of everything that you need to know and more about the Senior experience that you get when you book Brittany Ashlyn Photography. Whether you are just trying to get a few photos to make your parents happy ,or you truly want the most perfect-glamorous experience during your senior session I have the perfect advice here!
So you have booked your Senior Session, what do you need to do now?
First, fill out the survey that I have emailed to you! This is a really important step so that I can get to know you. We only have a short amount of time during our session to get acquainted, and I really want to make this the best experience for you! If you want to get to know me just read my about me section here.
If you haven't picked out a location yet and you really just have no clue where to go you can email me @ brittany@brittanyashlynphotography.com . Just let me know what type of place you were thinking about or send me some pictures and I will try my absolute best to find the perfect place for you. If you already know- GREAT!
Next, create a Pinterest board and send me a link to it. I tell all of my Senior Models this because it truly helps me to get an idea of the pictures you want! Although I do not promise any certain poses or shots, I will try my best to recreate any pose/shot that you really want. You can find my personal Pinterest Page here.
Now that you have an idea of who I am and what you want out of the session let's talk about what to wear. Be stylish and true to yourself. If you are a huge athletic fan bring your uniform to wear, if you love sparkly dresses (as I do) bring a beautiful gown or your prom dress, if you are chill and just like skinny jeans and tees- WEAR IT! Another great aspect to add to your wardrobe is Hats, Jewelry, and other pretty things to help change an outfit up a bit. These pictures are going to represent you as a high schooler Foreverrrrr.... you need to represent yourself. And, hey if you're a little bit of everything book my full experience package and you can have multiple outfit changes OH YEAH! Here are some awesome outfits that some of my Senior Ambassadors put together!
After you pick out your wardrobe, you need to think about props. Do you have a cap and gown yet? That would be great to bring by because on the big- hectic day you may not get a lot of good photographs. year signs or even sweat shirts for your future college is always great to capture in at least one photo. What better way to announce your future than in one of your senior photographs. Another prop to think about bringing is athletic gear. If you play football, baseball, softball, soccer bring along a bat, ball, or glove to incorporate into some of the photos. Some of my favorite pictures to take are using props ,because it gives me a chance to show the world who you really are. Artist can bring a guitar or other instruments to have in a few pictures. The possibilities are truly endless. Lastly I am going to mention your class ring. Almost every senior has one, especially the highschool seniors. Make sure you bring it along on the photo session day and tell me about it!
Lastly, think about the day of the photo session. Girls, get your make up/hair done by a friend or a professional, you will not regret it! Boys, Make sure you brush your hair and don't wear a hat unless you plan on taking pictures with it on! Make sure you know the location and know how to get there. If you haven't been there plan on leaving early incase you get lost. If you show up late it will cut into your session time, because I may have a session right after yours! Plan to arrive a few minutes early, I will most likely be there 10-15 minutes early and would be happy to add that time to your session :) ! Take off any unwanted items such as pony tail holders and jewelry. The worst habit I see is when you forget and realize that EVERY photo had an ugly band in the pictures...Blehh!
I can't tell you how excited I get for each of your Sessions and I promise you a wonderful experience! Remember to email with any questions that you may have.
XOXO,
Brittany
